EXCHANGE 2015
During the spring semester of 2015, i embarked on the biggest journey of my life. I travelled all the way to Sophia Antipolis in Southern France to live, attend school, and play soccer for 4 months. While I was in Europe, I got to travel to 20 countries, meet countless new friends, and submerse myself in a culture that has given me a greater appreciate for the world. |
TravellingDuring my exchange i was able to travel to 20 countries in a 4 month period. I got to immerse myself in cultures from Morocco to Denmark, Switzerland to Montenegro. I visited carnivals, searched out churches and monuments, ate local foods, and discovered some of the most natural beauties in the world. I've caught the travel bug, and can't wait to explore again.
SoccerWhile in Europe, not only did I go watch over 10 soccer matches, I was able to join a club team here at the school. Although some may think going to Champions League games and Premier League games would be the highlight of my trip, it was actually getting to travel all around France competing against other school's. The bond I was able to create with local French students really enhanced my trip, and was a standout moment.

SchoolAt UVic I was able to take courses such as International Business and European Studies in order to help me better understand the foreign world. While attending SKEMA Business School in France, I took great courses that gave me a balance of European business, as well as local culture. I think overall it has given me a balance of expertise to deal with people and situations from cultures that differ from my own.
friendshipsI ended up actually living with 2 French roommates while I was in France. This gave me a great chance to meet local students and get to understand the culture first hand. I also got to meet lots of other exchange students from other parts of Canada, Finland, and from China that made my exchange all the more better. I even ended up travelling to various countries around Europe with my new friends! Hopefully I can see them again soon.
